Wuywayit:
- Wuywayit is a favourite game. The Wuywayit is a stick about 50 - 70 cm long, with a knob at the end, yet it is in one and the same stick. Much pain is taken in making the Wuywayit; the long part is not above 6 mm in diameter.
- The men place themselves in a row holding the thin end from the knob in their hand and one after another throw it along on the grass.
- After touching the ground by their art of throwing, it rises like a stone thrown on a sheet of ice. It rises and again goes on till exhausted. They go a great distance.
- Each knows his own Wuywayit; whose is the furthest off is considered the best player. They stand in a row till all have thrown. To see 20 or more in a line is a pretty sight, and there is great excitement when the last Wuywayit is thrown.

Stories

Why the Wombat has no tail and the Kangaroo does.
  • Kuyim the Kangaroo and Warin the wombat used to be friends who shared everything.
  • One day Warin dug a hole and slept in it at night when it was cold.
  • Kuyim asked Warin if he would share his shelter with him and Warin said no.
  • A battle broke out and Kuyim got a spear stuck in his back.
  • That is why the wombat has no tail and the Kangaroo has a long straight tail.

Koala

  • Using an axe they would knock holes into the tree which get used for footing.
  • They would slowly work their way up the tree to catch the Koala.
  • The Koalas would be cooked with their skin on.

SPORT:

The girls have their own sports such as: dance
_They are particularly fond of dancing in the spring and autumn especially as many of the Native trees blossom twice in the year.
_They decorate their heads with flowers, and round their wrists like bracelets and round the ankles, and very gay the lasses look.
_They dance away as merrily as our country girls round the May Pole. _They choose their own leader who is like themselves.
Girls also played mangurt but they did not kick the ball, rather they threw it up to one another by hand.
_The girls play at Ball, not like the males but in the same way as the Europeans.
